Rule #40

Take whatever steps are necessary to get the creative juices flowing.

In my office, I have video arcades, movie memorabilia, Legos, Funko Pop figures, neon lighting, and a litany of other items designed to create a fun and inspiring atmosphere from which to work. Sometimes, I turn the TV on and let my current binge-worthy show run in the background. Sometimes I clean the house.

I do these things because, over time, I have found them to be excellent ways of focusing and creating the right situation where I can be productive and creative. You may have different ways to grease the skids of innovation, but it certainly helps to know what works for you when you need to get down and get cracking.
