Rule #34

A good designer needs to know how to fix his own computer.

A riff on Rule #17 about being able to diagnose and solve computer issues on a basic, if not intermediate, level. Computer illiteracy is still an issue at the time of this post, with so many people unable to perform even the basic repair or maintenance tasks. If a computer stops working, it’s not at all uncommon for people to stop in their tracks and be unable to work. Even essential Tier 0 tasks like “turn it on and off again” stump more people than it should.
