Rule #2

Microsoft Word is not a graphic design program.

Microsoft Word is word-processing software with limited capabilities to add photography, charts, and some freedom to develop layouts. It does not have the necessary features to support CMYK and spot colors, bleeds, overprints, advanced typography, and other functionality required to create a finished product that is suitable for printing on a commercial press or submit to any media publisher.

If you use Word to create a file for commercial print output, expect to have that file returned labeled as non-camera ready, or incur additional pre-press charges to edit and convert that document into something that can be sent to press.
