Rule #23

Learn good time management skills.

There’s a common belief that graphic designers and artists have a “loose relationship with time.” While I’ve met plenty who fit that description, I also know that poor time management can be a career killer in design and marketing.

Success in this field requires the ability to shift gears quickly, take on new projects, and still deliver on time and within budget. As one of my clients once told me, “I don’t know how you juggle multiple clients—I can barely keep up with just my job.”

The truth is, I’ve honed my time management skills and invested in the right tools to stay organized. Because of that, I can pivot between projects with ease—an essential skill for long-term success in this industry.
